surname file to be an excellent resource for information. Of course the larger the file, the better the

newspaper clippings of engagements, marriages, obituaries, announcements,
celebrations, commencement programs and much more. Some contain photographs. The former residents of what is now the
We would hereby like to extend and invitation to our readers to gather family information and submit this to the Galway Historian’s Office to be added to the surname file. It is quite easy to get started, ie write down the names of your household family members to the youngest, dates of birth, then go back through the parents, grandparents, whatever information is at hand, and submit this so we can start a file in your name.
We are
certain that a small effort today, will make a family member, years in the
future very happy as they research their family tree. Requests from all over the country for any
bit of information on family ancestors are directed to this officed with ever
increasing frequency. After the search
is done, any information found is copied and mailed to the request source. For example, someone living in
